I deleted the IsShortcut values ONLY in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile & piffile as
suggested and it worked like a charm. Thanx kindly for the responses! I also have
a shortcut to a webpage on my desktop and that arrow remained. Any ideas on how to
lose it by editing the registry without any software downloads?
