if you did uninstall Norton then click start--run--type regedit--ok. Then doubleclick on each of these: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\current control set\services\vxd After you doubleclick the VXD key you'll see a SYMEVNT key on the list underneath. Delete the SYMEVNT key then close regedit. That should remove the error. From Mark via computing.net
