Thanks everyone I was going crazy with this problem. A few questions though - the problem appeared out of the blue - my netwrok functioned fine for over a year without the problem - what could have triggered it? Under nettrans I found several numbers with tcp/IP I changed the MTU value to max for all of them - could this have any negative effect? thanks Ski
