This does have to do with McAfee Virus Scan.
Its called the on-access virus scanner. AKA:
McAfee's internet "upgrade-o-spy" software.
It "upgrades automatically" your software.
Good for the novice, bad for everyone.
To get rid of this service:
Windows 2000
1. Open "folder" \WINNT\TEMP
2. Right-click McAfee virus icon on the bottom
of your screen. Shut it down.
3. You'll notice the "webpoolfilefile" disappear.
4. Create a text file and rename it to
"webpoolfilefile". Right-click and remove ownership
system and make it read only.
5. Restart McAfee virus scan & you're set.
OK Have phun!
