Luke: after all your work, you don't want to hear this, but...
when you get mucked up by a program; the usual technique is to reinstall it and then
uninstall it;
the uninstall sequence should start with the Norton uninstaller,
followed by use of the Add/Remove Programs utility.
if you don't believe that will do the job, then buy a Uninstaller utility and put
it in place before you reload the Norton.
if you do, let the Uninstaller monitor all your program installs so that it can do
a proper job of tracking all system changes.
another benefit of such a utility is that you can use it to find files that are otherwise
very difficult to track; and it will advise you about any dangers associated with
the removal of any particular file.
