I had the same problem of June & Joe ("Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module Shell32.dll" - Win98). After looking for suggestions in the web, I found this by Dawgass Tech, quite similar to the MS Knowledge Base Article Q259096 (even if the Symptoms are NOT the same: I had the problem at the startup, before loading the desktop icons). I tried. And it worked! Many thanks Dawgass! ft
