why would you want to run a 17 year old non routable protocol, when
tcp/ip works so well? is there something to netbeui we should consider?
one of the best answers to your question is actually in your question: netbeui is
non-routable. for security, if you'd like to completely separate your windows shares
from other networks (like the internet), netbeui is one way to do it.
