I had the same message appear out of the blue. It appeared after clicking on Outlook
Express to get mail. You had to close the program and consequently no mail. I messed
with looking at all the internet solutions for a couple of days and finally found
one that made sense. Actually this fool had forgotten about this tool.Start>Programs>Accessories>System
tools>system information>Tools> and to the bottom of the box at the "version conflict
manager". Go through these and change the ones which are older versions. Since the
list is long (30-40) it takes a little doing. Pick on the vxd files first and then
update and repair Explorer in this same program. It worked for me. dr. dixie
