Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at 7:56 pm Windows 98 Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Andrew Johns (1 messages posted) I had a similar problem, an easy way to fix it is- Open start>run>then type in "sysedit" click ok>it should open the System Configuration Editor,select the window "AUTOEXEC.BAT" and delete the line containing the text "MSCDEX" The line will look something like the following.
