I'm getting the same error. The only difference is:
1) the blue screen appears after my windows98 login screen pops up and
2) ONLY when I have 640MB of memory installed
I don't think my problem has to do with what I have loaded.
I previously had (1) 256MB & (1) 128MB PC133 dimm installed in my computer. No problems...
Once I installed another 256 (PNY tech) I started getting this blue screen upon startup.
I also get a message from my Creative MIDI driver saying it cannot load.
I took the dimm chip out... it worked fine... I put it back in ... got the same errors.
I'm assuming it's the memory. If it isn't, I'll probably just stick to 384MB of RAM.
