You may have too many programs opening on startup. You should enter msconfig and
in the startup section uncheck all that you don't need at startup. Leave systray
and scanreg alone as well as power profiles. Most programs can be started manually.
Forgot to mention, don't uncheck stimon.exe if you have a scanner. The scanner may
not load properly.
