Low resource messages are usually caused by the use of too much unnecessary clutter 
in Windows. There are quite a few things that you could remove:

Any running programs that you don't need (check what's in the system tray particularly).

Any 'eye candy' on your screen, such as visual effects, things walking across the 
monitor, wallpapers, complex screensavers, etc.

Sound effects.

Permanently visible shortcuts (including the quicklaunch toolbar).

Huge amounts of fonts.
