Related to McAfee, of course. Try editing your autoexec.bat file, by changing (only) Bootscan.exe
to Scan.exe. Save your change, of course, and reboot.

I have been having trouble with my Windows 98 system "hanging" during startup, and
have determined that there is a line in the autoexec.bat file that is causing the
problem:
C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\NETWOR~1\VIRUS~1.XX\BOOTSCAN.EXE C:\
If anyone could tell me what the line is used for and what I should do with it to
remedy my situation and return to a normal startup option, I would be much appreciative.
