Sounds like you are trying to install the wrong video driver. In your Control Panel
System Information are there any devices showing up with a question mark?
Suggest you download the Belarc Advisor - http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
it may help determine exactly what your video card is without having to pull your
computer apart.
