I too tried everything. The regedit, wasnt there for some reason this time. Msconfig,again, it wasnt there either. Clicking Disable didnt work in the Scheduler properties. So instead, I searched for mstask.exe in C:\windows\system directory and renamed it mstask.bak. No more problems. If you find it interferes with programs that may need it, just rename mstask.bak back to mstask.exe Good luck. P.S. Im also running Win98SE
