Not sure how other solved their problem...my came up out of the blue...did not install
anything new, just shut down one day and poof, blue screen of death.
Could get in via Safe Mode and sued the normally useless Dell Support tutorial (why
the give you online links in Safe Mode when you computer cannot use the Internet
in Safe Mode is beyond me). Any way I just replaced the system registry with a version
from 3 or 4 days earlier using my Windows Safe Disk (find out how to create one and
then boot your computer from that). Reboot the computer WITHOUT CD support. This
will bring you to a DOS prompt A:. Type "c:", then "cd windows\command", then "scanreg.exe
/restore. This will bring up a screen that allows you to select past system registry
files. Then select a system registry file from a few days before the problem occured.
My PC came up no problem...not sure if the problem will reoccur or not. PLEASE make
sure you reconfirm these steps as I have put them here from memory...but they look
right.
Good Luck!!!
