Carol....I did the start, run, msinfor32........it didnt tell me there was something wrong. And it did restart the PC. So I will work with the comp and see if that cured the prob. It does seem like it runs a little faster. I surely do appreciate you folks helping me. I was at my wits end. I am copying all the suggestions and will try them one by one, and the ones Jmc suggested too. Something is bound to give....I just hope it's not my sanity!! I will let you know what happens. Thanx
