My comp is doing almost the same thing. After I rebooted one night, after the Win98
logo was displayed and it would normally show the desktop, and start loading anything
under the STARTUP section. It flashed an all blue screen with a little grey/white
box. There was no writing or anything at all. Then it reboots into safe mode and
cannot detect my mouse, modem or cd-rom.
I cannot figure out why this is happening. These are the system specs:
Dell Dimension 500 (P3 500MHz)
26GB HD
128MB SDRAM (single DIMM)
Win98 SE
Direct X 8.1
MS Office XP
IE 5
Mozilla 1.4b
nVidia TNT2 32MB AGP
Yamaha DX Sound
Altec Lansing Speakers/Subwoofer
US Robotics 56KB Modem
MS Intellipoint mouse
Dell MS Natural Keyboard
I hope this helps, please let me know if you need more info. I also tryed booting
from the startup disk, but it didn't work - especially now that it thinks there is
no CD-ROM!
Sincerely;
