USB 2.0 on newer mobos could be a problem if running an OS earlier than Win XP. Until the industry gets drivers certified for Win ME or Win98 2nd ed. the only solution I have found is to disable USB 2.0 support in your bios. This should eliminate Yellow question marks and exclamation points in Device Manager.
