I don't know, if it's because you can't explore. It's may be due to registry corruption. Are you sure that you spelled scanreg/restore correctly? It has to be exactly right. (Btw, it does work with or without a space before the /) Did you happen to notice what was being installed? See if you can navigate to your C:\Programs files using Find - Files or folders. If not, then another approach will be necessary.
