The blue-screen problem happened to me today, the way it happened is closest to Nathan's
problem. I was running a software to play games on-line, I went out of my room for
a few minutes, because I was was waiting for someone to join me in one of the games.
When I came back, my computer locked-up, (the mouse pointer still worked, and I could
still highlight and dehighlight the program's window, but nothing else worked) I
wasn't worried since it already happened to me a few times, so I had no other choice
but to Shut Down. After that, Windows ME started normally, but after it finished
with all the loading on the Desktop, the blue-screen suddenly came up (it was the
one that shows up all the time, mostly when I'm on-line, just like for any other
Windows ME users) the blue-screen on start-up did happen to me a couple of times
before in the last few weeks. I tried pressing Esc (to try to get out of it so I
wouldn't have to turn off my computer), the blue-screen showed up again and again
3 times right after pressing Esc, but after the 3rd time it finally returned to Desktop.
I tried to run a program (from Start), and the blue-screen showed up again with the
same error message as the one before, I pressed Esc once and the blue-screen disappeared,
I tried another program, and the same thing happened (blue-screen came up), then
I realaised that anything I try to run, the blue screen comes up. This was just too
weird, so I Restarted my PC from the Start\Shut Down menu. When my PC rebooted, the
new blue-screen came up saying "Windows Protection Error - Please Restart Your Computer.
System Halted.". That's how it happened... I can still access Windows ME on Safe
Mode, but I can't access it as normal, since that blue-screen shows up all the time
and freezing my PC!
