The problem with deleting the IsShortCut key is that the operating system uses this to track links. 1 This tracking will not work properly anymore. 2 Any shortcut keys in a pif/lnk in your start menu don't work anymore 3 IE thinks it is not the default browser anymore The fix with changing the iconsize in the display properties didn't do anything on my system, except make the icons out of focus. I think the only real solution here is to hack/edit the arrow icon overlay in shell32.dll.
