Not trying to argue with you experts but this is indeed a windows 98 issue. The BIOS
recognize my CPU as a P4 2.4Ghz processor and so do other system detection application,
all expect Windows 98 itself. The system properties nows says my CPU is a x86 after
I try some fix. This cause some program not to run since it demand to run on at least
a Pentium processor.
This is what I found on Intel's web site:
"Note: Intel Corporation announced the Pentium 4 processor brand name for its next
generation processor in 2000. Since the new brand name was announced on this date,
the current versions of Windows* 95 and 98 are unable to recognize the Pentium 4
processor. The Pentium 4 processor is mistaken for a Pentium II processor by Windows
95 and, 98."
