Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at 11:39 am Windows 98 Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Nicky (54 messages posted) If you're fed-up with intrusive advertisements while browsing, you might consider escalating to The Proximitron, from http://proxomitron.org which scrutinises incoming web pages, and snips out the calls to web sites that supply the ads, that feed to adware, and so on. Thus, your browser doesn't even waste the time to fetch them. Only those on the list are blocked, but the list is long, and the default installation works well. Extensions are possible, if you have the courage and time.
