Outlook Express 6 Runs Extremely Slow

I am running Windows 98se, Internet Explorer 6 and Outlook Express 6. My O.E. runs
extremely slow when I first open it up and then when I try to open new mail or create
a new message. Is there a setting I may have checked which could cause this? I am
running Nortons 2003, I also use SpyBot and AdAware regularily so don't think it
could be spyware causing the slowdown. It just seems to get worse and worse.
