It's certainly not the finest version of IE ever produced! Here's some reading, that 
may or may not help.......

Issues After You Install Updates to Internet Explorer or Windows

MS03-020: June, 2003, Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer

Personally, if you have the option when you run the IE repair tool to restore your 
previous version, go for it!
