I assume that you have backed up all of your important data. Formatting will permanently erase everything off your hard drive. Insert boot disk into a: drive. Turn on computer. At the a: prompt type format c: and hit enter. If you don't have a boot (start up) disk you can create one in the add/remove programs section, start up disk tab. Note, you will also need a win98 cd to put the operating system back on the computer after formatting. Then you have to reinstall all your applications. Then you can copy your data back onto the hard drive from your backups (documents, address books, emails etc.
