I posted this message before and got some response but nothing has worked
so far. I was hoping someone could help me.

I have a computer running Windows 98 and when I start it up I get the
following message:

scanning C: [ ]
Boot Sector cannot be read (this displays about 10 times)
Insufficient memory
Press any key to continue

This doesn't seem to effect the way the computer runs, it's just a pain. Someone
suggested uninstalling the virus scanner, it's running an old version of McAfee because
it's not used for the internet anymore, but when I try to uninstall it using the
Add/Remove Programs, it says that it cannot uninstall
because the application isn't installed. Can anyone tell me how I can uninstall the
virus scanner or if there is something else that will fix this problem?

Thanks very much.
