Hi JmC Thanks for the answer. I tried to start in safe mode and I get an error message: "Himem.sys test: bad XMS-Memory at adress 02C0F8DA. XMS driver not installed. Press any key to continue." When I do that, I get the message: "Himem.sys is missing. Please press ctrl+alt+del to restart" So I restart and then Windows starts in normal mode and everything is fine. The himem.sys file exits in my Windows and my Windows/Command folders. I am sure all this has to do something with my installation problems, can you tell me how to repair this? Regards, Mike
