Usually this error can be solved by Cleanbooting the computer before instaling a program. To cleanboot: click on start, then run, then type msconfig and click OK. Next, place the bullet it selective startup, uncheck the box where it says "load start up group items". click OK and yes to reboot. Then install the software. That will also solve the "program has preformed an illegal operation" error message. Just uninstall the program, cleanboot and reinstall the program.
