Shutdown means shutdown. When you choose shutdown from
the Start Menu your computer is doing what it's designed to do. Because it is a new
machine I assume it has a fast CPU, so it's shutting down quicker than those screens
can activate. That's normal.I have a pokey old PIII-333, and while I still see
the wait screen briefly I haven't seen the shutdown screen since I upgraded from
AT to ATX. I'd guess this is your first ATX machine, and I'm curious as to why
you feel you need to see those screens.
