Yes there is a solution, however, like all Microsoft programming, it is oblique,
kind of like an end run in football. (Programmers think for themselves, I applaud
programmers who think for the user)!
The solution is three step and done when you enter the address for the first time.
First, use the address book to enter a contact.
I usually have the email address on the clipboard ready to paste with the old keyboard
crtl+v keystroke.
Fill out the address book, 1st name, last name, email address.
Second, paste the email address into the nick name
Third, inspect the Display Name dropdown list by clicking on the dropdown arrow,
the email from the nickname is now on the display list. Select it and all is well
I hope I understood what what you wanted to accomplish. I think it gets the job done,
though the program structure to accomplish this is an annoyance indeed!
