I just discovered last night that Grisoft's AVG Anti-Virus 6.0 doesn't like Win98's
Solitaire either. If the AVG Control Center (which actively monitors your system)
is running when you try to start Solitaire you will get the Kernal GPF error referenced
in the original post. If you shut off the Control Center Solitaire starts working
again.
My solution, rather than disabling my anti-virus, was to download a better, free
solitaire. :) 123 Free Solitaire (http://www.123freesolitaire.com) is much better
anyway.
