hi!
i have a problem with my Soundblaster5.1 adapter under windows 98 se.
when my pc is active, my sound gets choppy. my configuration is as follows:
win98se
athlon 1GHz
asus-mainboard (onboard sound deactivated)
geforce4
soundblaster live 5.1
when i had a look on my system, i saw that the soundblaster shares an IRQ
with the following components:
Via Tech 3038 PCI/USB Universal Host Controller
Via Tech 3038 PCI/USB Universal Host Controller
ACPI IRQ-Holder for PCI
i switched the soundblaster to other IRQs in BIOS, that worked fine, but the
3 other components were switched to this IRQ too (by windows). so my sound
was still choppy.
i also deactivated my COM1 and COM2, so i have some free IRQs left, but still
whatever IRQ i set my soundblaster to, windows sets the other 3 components too,
so the IRQ ist still shared.
i even took the soundlbaster out of my pc, restarted, shutted down, put the card
back in, restarted the pc. but that didnt help, too.
in windows i cant manually change the IRQ of either the soundblaster or the
other 3 components.
how can i solve this problem?
i want my soundblaster to have an IRQ all for itself. how can i make windows
to set Via Tech 3038 PCI/USB Universal Host Controller, Via Tech 3038 PCI/USB Universal
Host Controller
and ACPI IRQ-Holder for PCI to another IRQ than my soundblaster ??
HELP!!
