Hi my stupid scanner is suddenly acting up after having used it 4 yrs without any trouble. I plugged the USB cable into my laptop computer and pressed the scanner's little blue button as per usual to bring up the scangear toolbox but nothing happened! the toolbox can open from Window's start menu but every time i click on the "scan" button on the toolbox, a little dialog box came up and said "cannot communicate with scanner. cable may be disconnected. check status. scanner driver will be closed". a 2nd dialog box says "unable to open TWAIN source. please check connection. then re-start toolbox". The cable IS NOT loose and the scanner doesn't need any external power sources. i tried 2 scan with another computer and it worked perfectly fine- so the scanner itself isn't dead. wots the problem?!?
