My Dell Laptop doesn't come with a floppy drive. Is there another type of software-based memory test that will work without requiring a floppy? Yes, yes, I know something that sits on the hard drive means some parts of the memory may be inadequately tested, but as I look at it, having some memory tested is better than having none tested.
