Another alternate method is Start/Run/ type in "msconfig" and click "OK" Click on "Startup" and take the check mark out of the "CriticalUpdate" box. Apply the changes, and restart your computer. This will place your system in Selective Startup mode. This is also a good place to eliminate all the garbage programs that keep starting up and eating cpu cycles/ram..the process is the same for all. Cheers
