As long as you maintain at least 100 MB free hard drive space, your computer shouldn't
have any problems. However, if you use the internet excessively, just clear out
your internet cache (go tools, internet options, click delete files). Make sure
the recycle bin is empty, and go into the recycle bin properties (by right-clicking
on the recycle bin) and lower the percentage of hard drive space it uses. Then go
into control panel, ad/remove programs and see if you have any programs you don't
want. I can't think of much else you can do other than going into the temp folder
(can't remember where it is on Win98; just run a search for it) and deleting temp
files if you wanna mess with that. Make sure you run defrag (in the start menu under
accessories, system tools) after you're done.
