Yours was the best answer that I have seen yet. I had the same problem on a Win ME
machine, and it ended up being the controller card that I put in for an IDE ZIP Drive.
As to wether or not it was the ZIP or the card, I don't know yet. When I removed
the card from my machine, it went back to shutting down by itself again.
Now I need to find out how to make it work. Thanks.
