I had Toshiba Sat. Pro 460CDT very old Notebook Pentium, with Windows 98. I have
tried to upgrade to Win 98 SE using a Full Install CD. I followed the steps mentioned
in the related thread:
http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/win98/n1023020848
During the upgrade process I got several error messages and I replied with OK becuase
no other choice ... I do not remember such errors ...
Eventually, what happned is as follows:
1. Windows upgraded fine, and all devices were identified correctly except the PNP
Monitor. I used the Standard driver for Notebook Display. Is this OK?
The Infrared, CD Drive, and Modem are all working properly.
2. All the previously installed programs, such as MS-Office 2000, are now NOT working
at all. Although they appear on the Start Menue, and the Desktop looks the same.
In Control Panel/add-remove programs, nothing is listed there!!! What happened? Can
I recover this situation?
3. I purchased several NetG Courses (Automated Training) for a value of US$700.00
and installed them on this Notebook. Now the courses are not working and I do not
have the CD to install them. Also, the shop who sold me the courses may not re-install
them for me. What I can do now?
If any one can help .. I'll appreciate it very much.
Thank you ...
