Did you install any software before this message occurred? One possible solution: Reboot, holding down the Control key. When the Startup Menu appears, pick the option to start with the Command Prompt(which is C:>). Then when that comes up, type in Scanreg/restore which allows you to pick a date when the registry was in good working order.
