Try the monitor on another computer. If it produces a display, that's a good sign. The monitor could still be bad, even if it seems to work OK on the other computer. It might have lost the ability to display at the refresh rate your computer is set for. If the monitor won't even display the IBM logo at power on, it's definitely sick.
