This is serious but not fatal. If you not a registry wiz kid I have recovered by re-booting holding down the F8 key and selecting COMMAND PROMPT ONLY from the start menu. Once in DOS type REGSYS which loads the list of the last 5 successful registry starts. Select the oldest. This should fix the problem. If NOT, Reload windows over its self. You should not loose any files or schructure. Windows will load its base files over themselves if you reply to the question to have windows re-load,(YES). This should also help with the second problem. I would suspect adware of corrpting the Windows registry.
