Can't find other networked computers in Network Neighborhood from a newly installed 98 SE machine

I have a question about Getting
Network Neighborhood to recognize newly attached computers:
There are 5 PC's and 1 laptop in this network (6 total). One of the 5 PC's acts as
the server. All machines including the laptop and server are running Windows 98 SE.
The machines "computer" identification names on the network are as follows.
PC's -
1. Lvp001
2. Lvp003
3. Lvp004
4. Lvp005
5. Server
Laptop -
1. Hz1m3
(* Don't know why there is no Lvp002)
Workgroup -
1. Landview
Only the laptop has an Internet Connection, and uses a D-Link 650 NIC card (attached
to the double card bus slot) to connect to the DSL modem. I am NOT trying to share
Internet connection between computers. No other computer is connected to this DSL
modem.
NOTE: ALL machines including the laptop were working perfect on the network, and
could share files and printers with no flaws. And would also show up in Network Neighborhood
from any machine. All machines including laptop had the (G:) server drive mapped
under "My Computer".
Problem: The laptop took a bad turn, and long story short, had to be formatted. Windows
98 SE was installed fresh, and now I can't get any of the machines including server
to show up in Network Neighborhood. So because of this I cannot map the network drive
(G:) server to the "My Computer of the laptop, thus giving access to the (G:) server
drive like all the other machines. All other machines work fine, except the laptop.
All machines are connected to a 10 base hub and the laptop was never removed from
this connection during the formatting or trying to reinstall network connections
to the (G:) server. Also when clicking into Network Neighborhood on the laptop it
only shows itself by name "Hz1m3" and when clicking into "Entire Network" you can
see the workgroup "Landview" but when clicking into that, you still only see "Hz1m3"
which is itself. No other computers show up on the laptop.
Laptop connects to hub using D-link 570 Nic card in card slot 1 of 2 (#2 is the other
D-link card used to connect to the DSL modem).
All other computers show up on eachother including the server, but the laptop does
not show up in any of the machines or server.
I went to the server and all other machines and looked at the configuration, protocols
and everything seems to be the same on the laptop.
I must be missing something...
Things to know... I made sure the NETBEUI was installed and it is. TCP/IP has "obtain
IP address automatically" checked on the laptop, but all the other machines have
an IP address and Sub mask in the fields. And there is no regular pattern to them
when cross checking each machine. All are on "Client for Microsoft Networking". NOW
DHCP is NON highlighted in all machines, including server. BUT on the laptop it is
checked DHCP server. I disabled that but it still didn't work. All machines seem
to be configured the same but I just can't find the problem.
I also tried to type in a couple different passwords when laptop starts to make sure
I had it right, that didn't work either.
So I tried to right click on "My Computer" and map network drive. I chose "G" and
then under path typed
\\Server
Says it cannot find the computer name. I looked at the server and that's the right
path name.
I also tried to get into a folder that's shared across the network.
\\Server\gserver
That didn't work either..
I did a "Find a Computer" function and that didn't work either in locating the server..
NIC cards both have lights up and were re-installed fresh after format. Also all
Win 98 crital updates have been done as well.
Please help, I am frustrated beyond on the point of no return.
I wish this was a Win2000 server or an XP network. This nightmare would not be happening.
Add user in active directory, log onto NT domain and it's done.. This is not the
case.. Please help.. Thanks in advance..
