Thanks for following the forum's rules. But some people post their queries in multiple forums so you can't always tell what OS they have unless they state it in their post. Supposedly XP is a more stable OS than Win 98 but if you read through the posts on the XP forum I see just as many problems there as are posted here. Windows 98SE has proved to be a pretty stable OS on my machine and I can run everything I want to with it. I see no compelling reason to shell out big bucks for XP. In fact if I were to get a new computer I'd be tempted to wipe XP out and install Win 98 instead, just because I have lived with it for so many years now that I know most of its ins and outs.
