The "AcbControl" value definitely works. Make certain you meet all of these requirements:
1. It MUST be created in the appropriate key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Common\General
2. It MUST be a DWORD value.
3. It MIGHT be case sensitive, so make certain it is typed exactly AcbControl
Hope this helps!
Warm Regards,
Raven Cecil
