Question about 'Recent Documents are Missing from File Menus in Office XP'

I have a question about Recent Documents are Missing from File Menus in Office XP:

I am using Windows-98SE and Internet Explorer-6. Recently, I noticed that the "File" menu is missing from IE-6. Surprisingly, it was missing from File Explorer too. I do not know when this happened, but, I had installed Windows Media Player -9 and MyIE also, in the recent past. I do not know if it is connected, but earlier I am sure the Menu's were in place. Can someone please help me in this problem? Thanks.
