Sounds like you need to reinstall your video (card) drivers. if you have the original
driver disks for your PC then you should be able to do this via Control Panel>System>Device
Manager>Display Adapter>Drivers and select update driver and "have disk" option.
If you don't have the driver then you will need to ascertain the make of card or
onboard video and go to the manufacturer's site or driver.com to download the latest
drivers. (The video card detail probably shows in the top left hand corner of your
boot up screen)
