EMERGENCY BOOT DISK FREEWARE
Before you format, try using Delindex.bat from a '98 bootdiskette to clean out all
of the junk files. If your mom needs a Free anti-virus use AVG Grisoft Free Edition
and also use Zone Alarms Free Firewall. Turn off find-fast indexing, and use AdAware,
SpyBot S&D and SpywareBlaster to get all of the Trojans off the system.
Use Eraser to clean up all of the FREE space. Run A:\>scandisk /all /surface , then
run:
A:\>scanreg /fix /opt
And use RegCleaner 4.3 to search for all of the redundant registry files. (NOTE Don't
remove any double files and 99% ARE needed by the system to run at all !!!)
Then make sure that her computer is fully updated and has enough RAM.
You might not have to reformat at all.
I just hate reformatting!
