Be sure to check in Add/Remove for anything suspicious and uninstall anything you
don't recognize. Do you have the latest versions and updates installed for AW and
Spybot? If not. they should be updated and run again.
Reconfigure Ad-Aware for Full Scan
Also, run the CWShredder tool, the HJT if still necessary. Run the CWShredder tool
to scan for CWSearch variants: CWShredder Close all browser windows and press FIX
to Scan and Clean. Reboot. Run it again.
Clear out all your temp folders: Internet Options - delete TIF and choose 'delete
all Offline content'. Settings - set the size of your TIF folder between 5 - 10 MB.
Choose - View Objects - choose View Details on the toolbar. If any ActiveX Controls
are marked "unknown" or "damaged", remove them. Plus, remove any you don't recognize.
Any and all, can be safely removed. They'll be downloaded again, as necessary. Empty
C:\Windows\temp folder and C:\temp folder, if you have one. Note: Some temp files
may currently be in use, until the next reboot. Empty Recycle bin.
If you still have problems, run HJT and post a log here.
